This morning, I saw an article entitled “shame of reading in public” and shared it with my own space. At that time, I wanted to say something, but I typed a few sentences and deleted them. I don’t know how I feel when the viewers understand my feelings when sharing this article. They are firm and do not express their opinions. Let the people who are willing to read this article think for themselves. This article also reminds me of a colleague’s experience not long ago. When she was waiting for the bus, she took out a book to read because the bus was late, because she was taking the doctor’s certificate, I want to use all available time to learn. But after looking for a while, she suddenly felt that all the people around her were looking at her with strange eyes. A young girl felt embarrassed, so she immediately put the book into her backpack and took out her mobile phone to play, which made the platform normal and calm. Afterwards, she recorded this matter in her own space talk. I commented below in her talk: Now is the electronic age! Keep up with the pace of the times! Her reply is: yes! Well! Yes! Yes! We all use the most likely exclamation marks. Perhaps only we two know the specific meaning these exclamation marks represent. She is a graduate of Sichuan University and has a persistent interest in books. In her own words, books are her favorite. We are not in the same department, and we can meet each other only when we are free. Every time we meet her, she holds a book in her hand. I talked to the other two colleagues in their department, but she buried herself in reading, she stared at us with a pair of confused eyes and looked up at us only when we were talking about intense or laughing: What’s the matter? What? At this time, we will learn from her and look at each other: What’s the matter? What? Then everyone laughed together. After laughing, one of us would repeat our words to her. We all like her because of her kindness and studiousness. In fact, all of us who are good books have a common characteristic, that is, we should read books in public! It’s just a matter of seriousness. One of us has a library card from the city library. Everyone will read the borrowed books one by one. After reading it, we will discuss it together, and sometimes we will write our experiences in the space, where we will discuss it again. Modern people’s work and life are very busy, and they seldom have time to calm down and read books. It is also a mistake if they are eager for knowledge, and the behavior of using available time to seek knowledge cannot be recognized, or ridicule. Then, our society will be more impetuous, and there will be more ignorant behaviors. It is indeed good, modern information is very developed, and knowledge can completely come from the Internet. However, while network technology brings convenience to people, it also brings various modern civilization diseases to people. The damage of radiation and eyesight is the most obvious and well-known, but people still sit by the computer all day long and let it hurt. There is no way to work, but what about reading? Why don’t we choose a relatively healthy way of reading? Moreover, some books cannot be found on the Internet. The article also mentions some people’s views that they can’t let others know what books they have read. I think, as long as you read a healthy and progressive book, what are you afraid of others to know?! Reading is a virtue and a fine tradition. At least I think so. I dare not expect reading to become a social atmosphere. I only hope that our society will have more people who love books, more people who love reading, and more people who treat reading in public correctly. I miss the past very much. I remember at that time, on the way home from school, people would also see me reading while holding books. At that time, people all gave praise
